Cheryl Kline - has been called a "California Caravaggio" and is known across America for her abstracted sky paintings, classical portraits and mixed media works. She paints in both classical figurative and contemporary styles. Kline is moved by images that evoke emotion and celebrate the grandeur of the universe. She studied Renaissance painting at Bruchion School of Realist Art and at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy and uses her classical skills - layering glazes to create soulful compositions.
In 2007 after a stellar year of sales, Kline purchased a building in West Los Angeles, and opened “Kline Academy of Fine Art,” and an Italian style atelier devoted to teaching painting and drawing skills to artists of all levels.
Highlights of Kline’s career to date have been; a solo show at the Discovery Museum in Connecticut, acceptance into the Royal Academy of Art’s summer Exhibition in London, and an Award of Excellence from the Portrait Society of America. Her work is in collections around the world. She currently has just completed a book on portrait painting techniques which will be released the year.
