Darrell M. Hill is perhaps one of the finest living “bold” impressionists. Born 1941 in Hillsborough, Illinois and raised in California, he received formal art instruction at the College of the Sequoias, Fresno State University and Brooks Institute, School of Fine Art in Santa Barbara. Hill's love of “light”, paint and canvas and his thorough understanding of color theory and paint technique eventually led him to focus on gallery sales of his painting. As demand for his work grew, it eventually became necessary for Darrell to devote his full energies to the creation of larger paintings. Many of his works are over 9 feet. Since making that decision he has enjoyed outstanding and continuing success in his career. His painting career now spans more than two decades. In addition to his beautiful work in oil, Hill also works in watercolor and drawing. He is the past President of The Holualoa Foundation for Art and Culture. And served as Vice President Creative Director for a major publishing company for 18 years. Currently Darrell and is wife Pat, also an artist, live in the Hawaiian village of Holualoa. more >>
