Two kids from Arkansas

Born 250 miles apart in small towns in Tennessee and Arkansas, Jim and Nancy Killett met in college and married right after graduation. With degrees in physical education, Jim coaching football and Nancy coaching gymnastics, their early years took them from New Mexico to Florida and Okinawa.

That journey hardly resembles the typical path into the art world, yet nothing about the Killetts has ever been conventional. Their grounded confidence, warmth, and good humor set them apart, as does their refusal to oversell or posture.

Now celebrating 50 years, the gallery reflects the values Jim and Nancy built it on from the beginning. In an industry often driven by hype, they created something lasting and personal, a true ohana (family) atmosphere shared with artists, collectors, staff, and the wider community.
